If your considering the purchase of this based on the previous reputation of Maxell, think again. It does not possess the quality or capability to properly clean the DVD laser in the very least. This DVD seems to have a mind of it's own as to whether it activates once you place it into your DVD player. If you do end up with the screen prompts don't consider yourself one of the lucky few. Complete and utter junk. Fools rush in, were wise men never go.
There is no phone number to call. This DVD "Cleaner" does not work. It will not play, it just hangs, and it can damage your unit. It is outrageous that this company thinks it can get away with this. I will never again buy any product affiliated with Maxell in any way.
A DVD player at Wal-Mart, where I had purchased the disk, played the disk without difficulty. When I try to play it, I get either a "can't read" message (Sony) or a strange sound as if the player is trying, but unsuccessfully, to play the disk. None of my three DVD players (Sony, Magnavox, Proscan) will read the lens-cleaner disk. Three different employees professed mystification at the inability of my DVD players to read the disk. I tried to run a replacement disk. Same result. Since the box containing the disk has no Maxell telephone number on it, I can't (as I would like) call Maxell to get their take on the problem. I feel ripped off.
I had an older version of this product which worked in our DVD players, but this one doesn't work. The players can't read the disc. I also noted that the amount of bristles on this disc are fewer than the amount of bristles on their older version.
The product isnt worth your money, it says it cleans the lens but after use of product i am still having the same problems with my electronic.
